Fine Time For Design
For this issue, we’ve “homed in” on local architects! It’s always exciting and inspiring to see award-winning designs, and we’re pleased to present the honorees from the recent competition held by the Southern Arizona Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. One of these spectacular residences graces our cover, and you can read all about it starting on page 18.
But a home certainly doesn’t have to win any ribbons to be a source of great joy to the owners. We visited a casa owned by a woman who, out of necessity, took on tiling her kitchen … only to discover that she loved the process and the results. Since then, her tile art has spread to the pool area and patio. See the colorful results beginning on page 26.
Though spring officially arrives this month, the evenings and early mornings can still be chilly. Having a fire feature to warm up your outdoor living spaces while you enjoy a cup of coffee and read the paper or chat with friends can really save the day! Check out our pictorial on various types of fire features that are available locally, starting on page 36.
Many of us are continually on a search for wonderful recipes to serve to our family and guests. In this month’s From My Kitchen To Yours (page 32), discover two easy dishes from a personal chef.
And as you gaze at your rooms and wonder how to freshen them up and give them a stylish look, consider adding artworks. Our Pros Who Know (page 16) focuses on Jane Hamilton Fine Arts, celebrating 25 years in the Old Pueblo.
