Cue the LIGHTS! Cue the MUSIC! Raise the CURTAIN! This year’s edition of the Somerset Collection Holiday Book celebrates all things entertainment with an insider’s guide to the star of this issue — our fashion. The stage is set and the spotlight is shining — take a seat and enjoy the show. Entering the spotlight: Burberry’s “see now, buy now” collections. Debuting just over a year ago, this spectacular new concept has revolutionized the industry. Rather than designing each collection six months in advance, Burberry is encouraging consumers to get their hands on their newly dubbed “seasonless” pieces right after the show. With “see now, buy now,” the Burberry collections will feature year-round staples in shows described as “February” and “September.” While parts of the collection will be available in store, full looks can be ordered in store through next spring. Meanwhile, our first act in this holiday book explores the undeniable connection between entertainment and fashion — from Hollywood muses to iconic costumes in films. As we spotlight the icons who have shaped our luxury brands, the silver screen, and our social media feeds, it’s clear that today, fashion is the entertainer. It’s no surprise, then, that this season was all about sequins and lots of shine — a return to an era when it was all about dressing up in one’s very best. The looks are cinematic, bold, and glamorous, so what better way to showcase Somerset Collection’s show-stopping styles than at a theater premiere in New York City? In our second act, journey with us to the Big Apple, where we take you on a behind-thescenes tour of what it takes to dress for an evening out. As the red carpet rolls out, the true star of the night — fashion — shines. As the curtain closes, remember that fashion is meant to inspire, captivate, and entertain — especially as we prepare for the holiday season and our own evenings out. Fashion columnist and editor Diana Vreeland said it best: “It’s not about the dress you wear, but it’s about the life you lead in the dress.” We’ve got it covered: To purchase additional editions of this year’s Somerset Collection Holiday Book, shown above, visit The Detroit Shoppe on Somerset Collection North Level Three. All proceeds from the Gold Edition ($20) and Platinum Edition ($20) will be donated to local charities.
