Clifton Bencke & Dale Wycoff, sailing & boating instructors with years of experi-ence in teaching youth & scouts, instruct. Class includes how to: rig & assemble the lateen rigged sailboats; get underway; trim the sail for different angles of wind; right-of-way; capsize and right the sailboats; “Man overboard”; and more. If no wind, class will explore the lake by canoes. The second evening of each ses-sion is combined training with a progression of Treasure Hunts including; finding the hidden pirate’s cave, Treasure Island, and more! Parents are welcome to enroll and sail with their child. Participants should wear a swimsuit and water shoes.
