NORTHeAST MINNeAPOLIS Years ago, Polish, German and Scandinavian immigrants settled in this section of Minneapolis, located across the Mississippi from downtown. While still holding onto its roots, this neighborhood has become a go-to spot for patio dining, boutique shopping and a little nightlife. ITINERARY ✔ Morning : Grab a cup of Joe and some breakfast at the Wilde roast Café. Then spend the morning strolling along Hennepin Avenue, stopping in cute local boutiques such as The Bibelot Shop for gifts and home accents, Pacifier for cute baby supplies or Bone Adventure for a pet treat. Several other shops for antiques, tchotchkies and jewelry are also located in the neighborhood. ✔ noon : Grab a lunch of soul food at Brasa rotissere, burg- er and tots at the Bulldog or Thai food at ginger Hop before heading down to Main Street and St . Anthony Main. Walk along the river to the Stone Arch Bridge, which provides great views of the downtown skyline and St. Anthony Falls. Or, choose to take a horse-and-carriage ride, which are offered all year round. GinGEr HOP OM, MinnEAPOLiS ✔ nigHT : Grab dinner at one of several restaurants along St. Anthony Main, including seafood at Vic’s or American fare at Pracna.
