andrew M. yeager, M.D. Specialty: Hematology Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson Member, Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program, University of Arizona Cancer Center primary Hospital: Banner – University Medical Center Dr. Yeager has more than 33 years of experi-ence in blood and marrow transplantation (BMT). An experienced clinical investigator, he is inter-nationally known for his studies of BMT in adults and children with leukemia and in children with genetic storage diseases or sickle cell anemia. Dr. Yeager received his undergraduate and medical degrees from The Johns Hopkins University, where he completed a residency and chief residency in pediatrics and fellowship training in pediatric hematology/oncology. He has served on the edito-rial boards of numerous biomedical journals and on review committees for the National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute, and the Institute of Medicine. He serves as a clinical and research mentor for medical students, resident physicians, and other trainees. At the University of Arizona, he is director of the fellowship training program in hematology and medical oncology, a member of the Faculty Senate, Chair of the Admissions Committee for the College of Medicine, and a member of the Societies Program for medical stu-dent education.
