Swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive to a depth of 7–10 feet, retrieve a 10 pound object, return to the surface, and swim 20 yards back to the starting point exiting within 1 minute 40 seconds. 3. Tread water for two minutes using legs only. You will have fun playing games while learning snorkeling skills. Scuba Explorers classes are designed to give everyone a better understanding of the aquatic environment. We ensure your safety during the pool Learn proper skills such as, entries, exits, surface dives, proper mask clearing and equalization techniques. This class is a great preparatory class for our Open Water Scuba program. Attendees will need their own mask, snorkel and fins for class. If you want to find out but are not quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course; this class will let you check it out, to see if you like it. This is not an actual scuba certification. You will learn how to use scuba equipment in shallow water and get a quick, easy introduction to what it’s like to explore the underwater world. There is nothing like breathing underwater for the first time. It takes a little getting used to; after all, we were not designed to do that! After a few minutes of awestruck wonder, most participants realize how easy scuba diving really is. The biggest challenge is getting students out of the water when class is over. Learn how easy it is to breathe and move comfortably underwater. The heavy equipment is weightless underwater! See how astronauts must feel in outer space! Learn the basic skills and safety rules that will carry over into your scuba certification course, should you decide to take the next step. Scuba Gear -a buoyancy compensator device (BCD), is the jacket that holds your scuba tank, a regulator to breathe from, instruments that monitor depth and air supply. $30 Snorkeling Gear the basic mask so you can see and fins to help you maneuver under the water.$20 Please bring the total equipment rental, $50 cash the day of class.
