Wheaton Junior Woman’s Club Sponsors “Girls Night Out”

Have you heard about a philanthropic organization in Wheaton, Illinois called Wheaton Junior Woman's Club? While their main fundraiser is the 5th annual fundraiser “Girls’ Night Out: Past, Present, and Future”, to be held Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Danada House in Wheaton, they do so much more year-round.

A small group operating under the umbrella of an international organization, General Federation of Women’s Clubs, they dedicate themselves to providing for those in need in the community.

At each of the monthly general meetings, a Pledge is recited which, in part, reads, “…living each day trying to accomplish something, not merely to exist.” And accomplish they do!

In the last year alone, the group has dedicated over 2,100 volunteer hours and $32,155 dollars to local charitable organizations such as DuPage PADS, Family Shelter Service, Easter Seals, Humanitarian Service Project, and so much more. They may be small in number, but they are mighty in the dedication they give back to their community.

They have supported many of these organizations for decades, one being Humanitarian Service Project (HSP), whose mission it is to serve the impoverished children and elderly in DuPage and Kane County.

For the last few years, they have provided Birthday Boxes for children.

What an impact this small project has!

Writes one mother, “Your Children’s Project Program has been a blessing to my children. They know the box when it comes. I have told many people about this wonderful program.

With the number of divorces rising and single parent homes increasing this type of program helps the children. People like you are what makes this world worth living in. Thank you again for all the happiness you have given my sons.” Want to learn more about Wheaton Junior Woman's Club? Interested in joining this incredible organization?
